Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation Review!

Hi everyone!

Long time no speak… Sorry for the lack of posts lately but I have just been so busy it’s unreal! I really wanted to get back into blogging properly this year as I had kind of got out of the routine of it and I have purchased and received A LOT of makeup recently so I have a ton of different products to review and share with you all :).

If you are a regular follower of my blog then you will know how much I absolutely love the Lancome Teint Miracle Bare Skin Foundation, so I decided for Christmas to ask for the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation and see how this compares!

IMG_1106

This foundation retails at around £29.50 and is available in 22 shades. I went for the shade o2. This foundation supposedly lasts for 24 hours (Not sure you would need that but hey!) and gives an even, flawless looking complexion without the need for touch ups. It’s meant to be easily blendable with a smooth finish.

My Opinion

Coverage – I would say it has a medium coverage, but you can build it up to be a full coverage if needed. I only applied one layer and got a decent coverage from this!

Application – It blends effortlessly – You need slightly more product then you usually would to apply it to your whole face but this isn’t really much of a problem.

Finish – The finish is natural – you don’t get the dewiness like you do with Teint Miracle and it sets well with just a little bit of powder on top.

Longevity – This foundation definitely did last all day. I didn’t go oily which I sometimes get with foundations around my T-Zone.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this foundation. I really want to test it for a night out to see if it really does combat oils, as so far it really has impressed me. This foundation gets a 9 out of 10 from me!

Have you tried Lancome foundations? What do you think of them? I would love to know about your experiences!

Thank you for reading 🙂

My Top Affordable and High End Perfumes!

Hi everyone – hope you are all well! It has only recently occurred to me that I’ve never blogged about one of my favourite beauty items – perfumes! I have always been a massive fan of perfumes, and always enjoy purchasing new ones to add to my collection of high end and affordable ones.

When it comes to perfume I like a variety of different scents, depending on the situation! So in this blog I’m going to go through all of my favourites and why I like them!

It’s quite hard to categorise perfumes into high end or drugstore as there are a few which I would say are borderline between cheap and expensive – so I will just put the rrp in the description for you so you can decide whether it fits into your budget!

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau De Parfum 100ml – £82

This perfume is a recent addition to my favourites. It’s definitely one I would wear for evening occasions more then daytime but it’s still universal in that sense. It’s the most long lasting perfume I have ever used, so I would say although it’s expensive, it’s worth the money as you only need the tiniest amount and won’t need a top up in your bag!

IMG_4461

DKNY Be Delicious (Red) Eau De Parfum 100ml – £62

I’ve loved this for years – it is a great adorable perfume that smells of Spring and Summer. It’s very sweet but not sickly! It’s got a very unique bottle in the shape of an apple which is cute too!

IMG_4464

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche 100ml – £78

This perfume will always be my signature scent. I got this for Christmas when I was like 14 I think, and have been using it ever since – I think I’m on my 4th bottle?! It’s scent is so distinctive that I’ve had people come up to me on nights out asking me if I’m wearing Chanel! I always get compliments when I wear this and if I’m close to running out then I start to panic! It’s more of an evening scent but I call this my lucky perfume and always wear it if I’ve got a job interview or an important occasion as it makes me feel good 🙂

IMG_4467

Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy 50 ml – £30

This is the most underrated perfume! I get many compliments when I wear this, and people are always so surprised when I tell them that it’s Britney! It’s sweet but not as sweet as the regular Fantasy one, and I feel it’s great for both daytime and evening (I have completely ran out of this one and so could not photograph!).

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Eau De Parfum 100ml – £96

I know that everyone absolutely loves this perfume. I think the scent is beautiful but I don’t find it the most long lasting out of my collection! That said, it smells delicious and it’s perfect for nights out! The bottle is also stunning and very luxurious!

IMG_4465

Prada Candy Florale 80ml – £72

This is another new addition to my collection. It is a very light Summery fragrance, which has a beautiful honey floral scent. I think this is great for daytime but also could be worn in the evening too, so it is very versatile! Another plus is that it lasts all day! I can spray this in the morning and genuinely still smell it on my wrist before I go to bed – Amazing!

So what are your favourite perfumes? I would love to know!

We Have a New Kitten!

Hi everyone! How are you all? Today’s lifestyle blog is basically about the fact that my partner and I now have our very own new kitten! He is a mixed breed, beautiful ginger kitten called Thor!

11163967_10156213865940425_2237951418383789577_n

I have always been an animal lover, and wanted us to have our own kitten as we got our own home in the last year. Searching for the right breeder was always something that I wanted to put as a top priority to make sure that the animal had been well looked after and been brought up the best it could. I found a lady from Surrey who was absolutely lovely, was an animal lover herself and had a lot of experience with breeding cats.

Having a ginger kitten was definitely also a priority as I didn’t want him to look like previous cats I had owned, so going for a different colour completely was always something I had wanted to do!

12189149_10156217366720425_742763000157949890_n

Thor is very much a people cat; he loves to cuddle just under your chin and whenever myself or my partner leave the room for longer then 10 seconds he meows until we return!

I would love to know what pets you have, or plan on getting! Or if you would like to know anything about bringing up kittens then please comment below and I will get back to you 🙂

Autumn Nails by Essie!

Hi everyone! How are you all?

This is a new kind of post for me as I’ve never blogged about a nail varnish before (mainly because my previous job never allowed me to wear nail varnish!?). So to make the most of my new freedom with being able to wear it, I thought I would blog about a beautiful Autumn shade called Jump On My Jumpsuit by Essie.

IMG_4371

This shade was hard to photograph and looks more pink in this photo, however, it is definitely more of a deeper red, which is portrayed better in the photo below.

There are many reasons why I love Essie nail varnishes;

  • The drying time is fantastic, and doesn’t seem to cause marks in the nails if you do it too close to bedtime like a lot of other brands!
  • The shade ranges are just incredible.
  • They are pigmented so only require one to two coats and don’t go streaky.
  • They last a fairly long time on the nails.

Essie nail varnishes are priced at £7.99 in Superdrug, which is more than your average drugstore varnish price, however you can get good deals when buy one get one half price is on!

Superdrug Essie Jump In My Jumpsuit

I have been wearing this shade for four days now and the first chip has only just appeared. For me, this is extremely good as my nails usually chip on the second day!

This picture shows the true colour of the nails, which I’m sure you will agree is very appropriate for this time of year 🙂

What I do to Relax after a Stressful Day!

We all have those days where you just want to get home, put some pyjamas on, have a glass of wine and just forget about everything that’s going on. When this happens to me, I have a few things that I like to do to relax, destress and just make myself feel better!

Read a Book – Nothing relaxes me more then reading a book. It actually makes me fall to sleep sometimes! I know not everyone likes reading books, but it’s definitely something that can help you to escape a stressful situation or something in your life that maybe just isn’t making you think very positively right now. Authors I love are Lindsey Kelk, Katie Price (I know, I know, but her books are VERY addictive!), Gillian Flynn and Sylvia Day.

Pampering – I don’t mean spending a fortune on going to a spa, or even going to a salon for treatments. You can pamper yourself on a budget very easily from home! I do this by running a bath, adding some sea salts and a Lush bath bomb to it, putting on a face mask and using a body scrub to massage. When I’ve come out I like to use Johnsons Baby Oil to make my skin lovely and smooth and then paint my nails.

Colour Therapy – This is something fairly new to me, and I know it won’t be everyones cup of tea but if you are creative person who loves stationary then this is definitely something you should try! You can grab yourself a colouring book and pens for a reasonable price and just spend the day colouring in and creating some beautiful pictures. It is SO relaxing!

Netflix – When I have a whole day to spend relaxing, I love getting into a new series! Netflix is great for binge series watching. Ones Im loving at the moment are Pretty Little Liars, Suits and Grey’s Anatomy! Disney films are also a great way to relax I find!

Exercise – It’s not always the first thing I turn to when I’m stressed but I find that when I exercise I completely relax and stop thinking about whatever it is that is stressing me out. Yoga and pilates are great for this, but I love just doing a high-intensity work out where I can just focus on the exercise and then it tires me out afterwards.

Music – I just love to put on a pair of headphones and discover new music on Spotify. My favourite albums at the moment are Selena Gomez Revival and Disclosure Caracal.

How do you de-stress? I’d love to hear your tips!

Glow from Within Makeup Look – Trying out New Products!

Hi guys – Hope you’re all well! I know my blog has been a bit quiet lately, and that is mainly due to getting a new job up in London which I am absolutely loving! I am now in the crazy/interesting/fascinating world of advertising and marketing for a brilliant company and I am just so happy. Now that I’m getting settled with the daily commute and have sorted out a schedule for my blog, there will be regular posts! I will be aiming for two a week 🙂

So today’s makeup tutorial isn’t one of my regular ones – This is more of a review as most products I have used are first impressions. I just thought it would be fun to create a look at the same time, which I hope you enjoy!

The look I wanted to create was a really brightening, dewey look. One that makes you look like you are ‘glowing from within’.

IMG_4162

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur Primer (Warm Apricot) – I really enjoyed this primer. It’s more of a moisturising primer but just makes your skin feel incredibly soft and it smells lovely, which is a bonus!

IMG_4157

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation –  If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know this is one of my most used foundations. It gives a beautiful natural look and suited the look brilliantly.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer – This is a bloggers’ favourite. I had been meaning to try this out for god knows how long, and I finally got around to it! I couldn’t recommend this enough – It’s pigmented, easy to blend and comes in extremely practical packaging for application and travel.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Another of my ‘holy grails’ – I never really venture away from this powder as I know it works and it’s affordable! I only applied this on my t zone as I wanted my cheeks to glow.

Smashbox Shape Matters Palette – I recently purchased this palette for half price (£30) in Boots as it was their Star Gift, and boy am I pleased I did! This product has multiple uses; brows, face and eyes. I used the ‘Taupe’ shade for my eyebrows, as well as the bronzer, contour and highlight for my face. It is extremely pigmented – I would highly recommend, especially if you can find it for a bargain like I did!

Stila In The Garden Palette – This palette is very unique; it consists of a mixture of shimmers and mattes, in shades such as olive tones, bronze tones, and more dramatic shades such as a purple and a blue. I started with the shade Chinois (Matte white) all over the eye, followed by Nectar (matte beige) in the crease to help with blending. I then applied Honey (Shimmery gold/copper) onto the lid, and Sage (light shimmery green) through the crease. Lastly, I finished with Moss (Dark shimmery olive green) through the crease and also on the bottom lash line. This palette really did impress me with it’s beautiful easy to blend shades which looked stunning on the eyes.

Benefit Rollerlash – I actually ended up having to use this mascara as it was annoyingly the only one I brought with me on holiday! It is one of my most used but I wished I could have tried a new mascara for this look.

Nivea Lip Balm – I didn’t want to take the focus away from the dramatic eyes and due to being on holiday my lips were fairly dry, so therefore I just applied some of my Nivea Lip Balm in Raspberry.

And here is the final look!

Flawless by Sonya Baked Eyeshadow Quad Review!

Hi guys! How are you all? Today i’m blogging about a brand called Flawless by Sonya, which is fairly new to me. I did a bit of research before picking up a couple of their products, and was very impressed to see that their products are handcrafted in Italy, as well as being infused with Aloe which is very good for your skin. The product I will be reviewing today is the Baked Eyeshadow Quad in Rose Bronze. It retails at £30.50 and includes four stunning baked completely natural eyeshadows which give a beautiful shimmer to the eyes. In the pan the eyeshadows are absolutely beautiful, so I couldn’t help myself!

IMG_1094

IMG_1098

The swatches below show how the colour comes off on the skin. The highlight shades were quite hard to pick up with the camera and definitely aren’t doing them justice. To the naked eye they are extremely shimmery and reflective.

IMG_1102

What Do I Think?

Considering the eyeshadows are made from completely natural ingredients, they are fantastic. If you have very sensitive skin and/or eyes then these would be a great option for you as they shouldn’t irritate, whereas some makeup brands on the market can.

Due to being baked, they don’t have a hugely impressive pigment, but that doesn’t mean they don’t look stunning. Especially for the daytime, it’s nice to go for a slightly softer more subtle eyeshadow look, which is where these shades really fit in. I found that the shades are very build-able so you can work them up to get the desired look.

The top two shades can be used as inner corner highlights, or to add just in the centre of the lid which can make your eyes appear bigger, wheres the bottom two shades are for adding more depth and warmth to the lid and/or outer V. The purple shade has a lovely pigment, and all the shades have a very soft finish and feel nice to apply to the skin, not powdery or chalky.

I would recommend purchasing (if you don’t own one already) a slightly warm tone matte shade to apply to the crease to improve blending and just finish the overall look.

Below are pictures of me wearing the bronze shade in the bottom left corner and the highlighter in the top left corner. I loved this as a natural pretty day time look.

Hair and Makeup Tutorial – Dramatic Copper Eyeshadow with Soft Curls!

Hi everyone! So today’s blog is something a little different to my usual posts, a makeup AND hair tutorial! The focus of this look is the dramatic eyes and the soft curls in the hair, so I’m not going to be doing a step by step on my foundation, blusher etc. If you do want to know what products I used for that then please comment below and I’d be happy to answer!

Eye Makeup

To achieve this look I only used my Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette, so if you have this then get it ready! I have included a photo of the palette with the shade names in this post, so you can see what the shades look like in the pan and this will help you to look through your collection and find good alternatives. img_0925 img_0935

For this look I started with the shade Truth, which I used as a base and applied this all over my lid and into my crease. This just helps to make all the shades stand out if you are planning on using bright colours.

I then took the shade Undone and just applied this through my crease quite lightly and blending out thoroughly – This will be our transition shade to help with blending the Copper shade later on.

The shade Sonic was then applied all over the lid, and through the crease. I packed this colour on as much as possible as I wanted it to be very bold and dramatic. I made sure to blend it out very well as it’s such a bright shade. I also lined under my eye with this shade.

Once I had packed on the Copper, I took the shade Defy just on the outer V and through the crease very lightly. This just gave some depth to the Copper so that it wasn’t all one shade.

Lastly, I used Last Sin to highlight my Inner corner to brighten up my eyes.

To line my upper lash line I used the Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner as this is my favourite at the moment. It doesn’t smudge and is SO easy to apply!

For Mascara I chose the Benefit Roller Lash. This is a great mascara if you are looking for length and volume but don’t want the clumpiness that comes with some mascaras.

To finish off the makeup look I went for Mac’s Creme Cup lipstick which is a light pink nude shade.

IMG_3817

IMG_3784

Hair

The hair was actually pretty quick and easy to do. I parted my hair into a centre parting and then took my GHDs and added a few loose curls around the sides and back of my head, making sure to curl away from my face. I also curled each side of my fringe so that it looked like part of the main body of the hair. I then brushed through my hair to make the curls softer.

IMG_3821

Once my hair was curled, I took my go-to hair product right now, which is the Parlor By Jeff Chastain Moisturising Sea Salt Spray. I sprayed this all over my hair (Not going right into the roots) whilst lifting my hair up to get to the underneath sections too. I then started scrunching my hair with my fingers just to give it a bit of body. I did this a few times and the end result gives you a lovely soft natural curled look.

Here is the finished look!
