Beauty and Skincare Haul!

Hi guys! So all of you probably know by now that I’m a bit of a shopaholic when it comes to beauty and skincare. Whenever I pop into a Boots or a Superdrug I just can’t help myself! But, this time I didn’t even have to step outside my front door, as I happened to end up on Boots’ Website and ended up spending a bit too much! There were a couple of bits that I genuinely needed, but, a lot that I probably didn’t! This blog post is just going to be showing you my new purchases! I hope you enjoy it 🙂

Recently I have added the No7 Protect and Perfect Advanced Serum into my beauty regime, and I have seen such an improvement with my skin tone, brightness and just overall health! I rarely get spots anymore, and my acne scars are basically a thing of the past! I can’t recommend this product enough, and although it is £24, if you grab it on a 3 for 2 deal then you can save a fair amount of money. I had been using the No7 Beautiful Skin Moisturiser as well, however, this month I thought Id try the Protect and Perfect Moisturiser to go with the Serum, to see if this improves my skin even more! It was a bit on the pricey side (£24), but I feel your skin is something to not cut corners with, since you only get one chance to keep it looking vibrant and young!

Another item in my basket was the Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep Overnight Serum. This stuff has been highly rated and reviewed, and only cost me £3.50! It claims to whiten your teeth and brighten your gums, as well as restoring and protecting their radiant youthful look. I have only used this product twice in a row now, so I can’t really give a proper review but I think they look slightly whiter then usual! Let me know if you like a full blog on this at a later date when I have used it for longer by commenting below 🙂

My last purchases were a whopping six pairs of eyelashes! I realised that I only really owned dramatic fake lashes, and really wanted to start wearing more natural ones more often! I love how they complete a makeup look, especially with dramatic eyeshadow! I went for Eylure lashes, and brought the following ones; Pre-glued lashes, Lengthening No. 116, Lengthening No. 035, Naturals No. 031, Exaggerate No. 141 and Eylure Boots Exclusive Lash Pretty. Im so excited to try these, and will use them in my up and coming tutorials for you guys!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my most recent haul! I’m sure there will be more in the near future 😉

Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick Review!

Hi everyone! I went for a massive shopping trip in Stratford City Westfield recently, and one thing that I really wanted to purchase was a YSL lipstick. I went over to the beautiful counter and saw the most stunning lipstick – the Yves Saint Laurent Luscious Texture Aqua Shine Effect lipstick (£24.50)! I was definitely up for purchasing a bright summery colour, and found my perfect shade in 15 – Rouge Volupte Shine. I can’t even explain how luxurious this product is to hold, as it’s quite heavy and the packaging is just to die for! The pictures don’t quite show how amazing the packaging is, but still, you can kind of see for yourself!

Is it bad that I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to use the lipstick? I didn’t want to ruin it at all! I found the first application quite heartbreaking because of this – ha! But anyway, some lipsticks I find on their first application are quite stiff to apply and soften as you use them – Not with this lipstick! It applied so smoothly, and the colour payoff was out of this world! It didn’t sit in the creases of my lips either which I find a lot of lipsticks have a tendency to do. I wore this lipstick on a night out, and I only reapplied it once! It has great staying power, and keeps it’s lovely glossy texture very well.

Considering this lipstick was a very expensive product, I would 100% purchase more. I would love to get one of their nudes, and a classic red shade to add to my collection!

Have you ever tried one of the YSL lipsticks? What was your opinion on them? I would love to know what you thought!

Naturally Flawless Festival Makeup Tutorial!

Hi everyone! I went to Wireless festival this weekend in London and had a really great time seeing acts like Rudimental, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and Labrinth! I really wanted to do a makeup tutorial for it as I wanted a natural makeup look that would last all day and wasn’t over the top. So keep reading to see how I achieved this look 🙂

To start my base I used the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Face Primer, which gives a beautiful dewey skin affect. It was perfect for the natural look that I was going for! I didn’t really want to use a foundation for the festival as I wanted my makeup to look natural and didn’t want to put too much on my face, so I used the Lancome Hydrazen Beauty Balm Neurocalm in the shade Sable. I applied this with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It looked and felt so light on my skin. I was so impressed with this BB cream! It also lasted the majority of the day, considering I applied it at about 9.30am and didn’t take it off til about 2am – not bad at all!

For blusher, highlighter and bronzer I used my trusty Sleek Contour and Blush Palette in Light! If you don’t own one of these palettes, I recommend you definitely purchase one! It is extremely affordable, and the colour payoff is excellent. The highlighter in the palette is my favourite! I applied the bronzer into the hollows of my cheeks and around the edges of my face. I applied the blusher onto the apples of my cheeks, and the highlighter onto the tops of my cheek bones, my cupids bow and brow bone. I used quite a lot of highlighter as I wanted to look very radiant. I loved the effect it gave! I did my normal brow routine using Benefit’s Browzings in Medium.

I wanted my eyes to look quite understated, so I used Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes Palette. I applied the base colour onto my lid, using a patting motion. I then took the contour shade and took this through my crease, blending thoroughly, and also lined my under eye with it. I then took Mac’s Nylon and applied this into my inner corners, and a tiny bit on my brow bone. This is a very bright highlight, and so, if used in the brow bone, only a small amount should be applied.

I used Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara on my upper lashes, and lined my waterline with Rimmel’s Kohl Eyeliner in White. My lipstick choice was one of my favourites – Faux by Mac. I LOVE this lipstick. It is a beautiful shade but still looks natural, so I felt it looked perfect for this look.

So what do you think of the look? Did you go to any festivals or have any planned this Summer? Please comment below!

Classic Evening Makeup Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today I felt like writing a blog for a more classic makeup look, which would be great for an evening out! When creating this look, I knew I wanted dewey natural skin, a dark lip colour and bronze eyes. This tutorial has been created using both high end and drugstore products, to try and cater for those with different budgets! I hope you enjoy it, and please remember to comment below your opinion on the look, what you would change, or if you recreated it 🙂

To start my base, I used L’Oreal’s Lumi Magique Primer. This primer is great if you want a dewey glow underneath your foundation, and it is a great dupe for Mac’s Strobe Cream! It always improves the application of my foundation. I then applied Lancome’s Teint Miracle Bare Skin foundation, using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. This foundation is one of my favourites! It applies so evenly and gives a flawless dewey skin, whilst feeling so light on your skin. I highly recommend it! To brighten up my slight under eye circles, I used Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Concealer, which I applied with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. To contour, blush and highlight my face, I used Sleek’s Contour and Blush palette, in Fair. This product is incredible! It’s super affordable, and the colour payoff is fantastic. To shape my eyebrows I used Benefit’s Browzings in Medium. This never lets me down, and it lasts all day! To set the base makeup, I used Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder, with the Real Techniques Setting Brush. Here I am below so far (please ignore my scrunchy headband – I seem to have misplaced my plain headband, oops!).

For the eyes, I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. If you don’t already own this, I would definitely recommend purchasing it! The range of colours is so vast that you can create an array of different looks! It will be one that I will take on holiday with me, for sure! I started with taking Salted Caramel through the crease, and slightly higher towards the brow bone, to give a warm effect to the look. I then applied Creme Brûlée on the inner half of the lid, just doing a patting motion to ensure the colour is quite bright.

I then took Haute Chocolate, and applied this on the outer half of the lid, on the outer v and through the crease, to darken up the look slightly. It is important to blend Creme Brûlée and Haute Chocolate on the lid into each other, to give an ombre effect. To do this, you need to make sure you have two different brushes for each colour and just blend each into the other one, one at a time. It may take a couple of goes to get the perfect look, but trust me, it’s worth it!

I lined the undereye with Creme Brûlée on the inner section, and Haute Chocolate on the outer. The last shade from the palette was Champagne Truffle, which I used to highlight my inner corners and brow bone. To line my eyes, I used the Maybelline Gel Liner in Black, with the Real Techniques Liner Brush. I wanted to make the liner quite thin for this, and added a slight flick at the end. I love how it came out! The Mascara on my tops and bottom lashes was the Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara.

Lastly, we have the lips! I used the beautiful lipstick named Craving by Mac, and this was just perfect for what I was going for. It’s dark, but I feel it is a flattering shade, and looks very classical.

So here it is guys – The finished look! I absolute love it! What do you think? Please comment below!
