My Mac Eyeshadow Collection 2014!

Hi guys! Today’s blog post is going to be about my Mac Eyeshadow Collection. So as you all probably know already, I am completely Mac obsessed! This obsession has caused me to purchase a Mac Pro Palette which allows me to create my own palette with any colours I wish. I purchased the 15 slot palette, enabling me to have a very universal product! I have so far filled 8 spaces with shades which I spent far too long choosing! Just a disclaimer before I go on, I don’t have anywhere near what most bloggers probably own! I just wanted to share with you the shades I have added to my Mac Pro Palette.

I first decided I wanted to start a collection through watching Tanya Burr’s Youtube Channel, and seeing how many palettes she owns. I think It’s an incredible idea, as you can completely customise the shades, and they fit into such a neat slim packaging making it easy to travel with!

So, here we have the Mac Pro Palette! The case itself retails at £14, and the insert is £2.50. This palette holds up to 15 eyeshadows of your choice. I think it’s a beautiful design as you can see the shades you own before you open it, making it easier if your lucky enough to own many of these palettes!

Right, now onto the shades! I own 8 in total, and they go in order on my arm below from left to right.

The first shade I have is Nylon. This shade is great to use as a highlighter, as it is so bright and shimmery. It is a bit too bright to use on the brow bone but it looks just perfect on the inner corners of your eyes. I’ve never found a highlighter like it!

Next, we have Jest. Jest is a beautiful pink tinted highlighter. I think this would look great as a pop of colour in the inner corners, or in the center of the lid, to intensify eye looks.

My next shade is All That Glitters. I think I picked this because it’s extremely popular, and love shimmery eyeshadows. It works great when patted onto the centre of the lid, to make your eyes look even bigger.

A similar shade I own which is similar to All That Glitters is Honesty. This is probably my least favourite of my Mac eyeshadows but it’s still very pretty. It does a similar job to All That Glitters, however, so you probably don’t need both!

The next shade is my most used out of the entire palette – Woodwinked. I absolutely love this shade, as it can be applied through the crease, all over the lid and under the eyes – whilst still looking like different shades have been used!

Next we have Mulch, which is a bronze-brown shade. This looks great in the outer V of the eyes, and applied halfway through the crease. It has a lovely shimmer, but isn’t too over the top. I reckon this shade would go with many colours on the lid, as its very versatile.

My second to last shade is Trax. This isn’t the type of shade I would normally go for, however, I was recommended it in the Mac Store because of my bright green eyes – it definitely does make my green eyes pop! Its a shimmery purple shade with little speckles of gold.

And lastly, we have Cranberry. This is my absolute favourite Mac eyeshadow shade! It literally is a warm pink cranberry shade, with a slight shimmer. My ideal look for this shade would be to apply it all over the lid, with a matte brown shade through the crease to intensify the Cranberry even further. There are so many looks you can achieve with this shade, so I would highly recommend adding it to your collection!

As I said, I don’t have the biggest collection by any means, but, I am going to be travelling to America later this year and am hoping to add to this! What are your favourite Mac eyshadow shades? Any you could recommend to me?

First Impression of the L’Oreal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks!

Hi everyone – how are you all? So recently I went on a little beauty haul and picked up a few goodies. When I was in Boots, I was most interested in the new (ish) L’Oreal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks. These came in many shades ranging from nudes to bolds, had beautiful packaging and were fairly reasonably priced at £8.99 per lipstick.

I wanted to try out both a nude shade and a bold shade, so went for 401 Fuschia Drama and 600 Nude Vibrato.

600 Nude Vibrato

401 Fuschia Drama

So, for starters, as a first impression I was very impressed with this product. The colour payoff was excellent and they were extremely pigmented. I noticed this especially with the purple/pink shade, which only needed one coat. The product seemed to last about two-three hours until I needed to top up, which I would say is pretty decent for a drugstore lipgloss type product.

On the other hand, I would say I wasn’t much of a fan of the texture. When I applied it, I got really excited as it didn’t feel too sticky on the lips. However, once it had been on my lips for about five minutes or so, it went very tacky and sticky. This ruined it slightly for me, as I prefer a less sticky formula.

Overall, I am pretty impressed. The product has staying power, and beautiful shades. For the price, I would happily purchase more to add to the collection. The only downside would be the sticky texture of the product. I would give this a 7 out of 10.

Have you tried the L’Oreal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick? If so, what were your thoughts on it?

Shimmery Plum and Beige Eyeshadow Makeup Tutorial!

Hi everyone! How are we all? Today’s blog post is a makeup tutorial showing you how to achieve this shimmery plum and beige look! I absolutely loved this look – perfect for clubbing and evenings out with friends! So keep reading to see how I achieved this makeup look!

1. Base

When you are going to apply a dramatic eyeshadow I always feel it looks best when your base is flawless, in order to avoid distraction from the beautiful eyes! For starters, I used the Mac Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage. I was sent a tester for this product, and I will definitely be buying the full size! It’s so creamy and moisturising, as well as ensuring my base lasts all night. I then buffed in my Lancome Teint Miracle Bare Skin Foundation, as this product gives me flawless skin but looks dewey and natural. I then applied my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer just under my eyes with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I then went onto my eyebrows and used the Benefit Browzings eyebrow kit. This is one of my holy grail items – I just couldn’t live without it!

2. Contouring, blush and highlight

Next you want to contour the hollows of your cheeks. This instantly slims as sometimes foundation can make your face look flat and round – So this helps to bring that shape back into your face again. I contoured with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I used the blusher from the Sleek Contour and Blush Palette in Light, and just applied it to the apples of my cheeks. I then highlighted too with the same palette, on the tops of my cheek bones, cupids bow and brow bone.

3. Eyes

Now comes the exciting part! To create my entire eye look I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette as the eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and blend effortlessly! I started by applying the shade Salted Caramel into and above my crease, in order to make the eyeshadows blend perfectly and to give some warmth to the eyes. Next, I went for Cherry Cordial, and took a tiny bit of this and blended it through the crease. This shade is extremely pigmented so blending gradually will work best. After this, I patted Marzipan on the centre of the lid. This is a beautiful shimmery beige shade and really brightened up the eyes. I then took Haute Chocolate and applied this on the outer v and lined underneath my eyes. To highlight my inner corners I used the shade Champagne Truffle. I then drew a thin line of eyeliner over my top lid, using the Bourjois Liner Clubbing in Ultra Black. I only drew a tiny flick as I didn’t really want cat eyes for this look. I lined my lower waterline with the Max Factor Liquid Effect Pencil in Black Fire. For my lashes, I went with the Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara, and then added false lashes on top, which were the Lengthening No. 116 by Eyelure. These lashes are my absolute obsession at the moment, and I highly recommend them!

3. Lips

Lastly, the lips! I wanted a dramatic lip for this look, so I went for Craving by Mac. This is a beautiful shade of red/plum and was one of my first ever Mac lipsticks! I feel it really complimented the eyes.
