Glow from Within Makeup Look – Trying out New Products!

Hi guys – Hope you’re all well! I know my blog has been a bit quiet lately, and that is mainly due to getting a new job up in London which I am absolutely loving! I am now in the crazy/interesting/fascinating world of advertising and marketing for a brilliant company and I am just so happy. Now that I’m getting settled with the daily commute and have sorted out a schedule for my blog, there will be regular posts! I will be aiming for two a week šŸ™‚

So today’s makeup tutorial isn’t one of my regular ones – This is more of a review as most products I have used are first impressions. I just thought it would be fun to create a look at the same time, which I hope you enjoy!

The look I wanted to create was a really brightening, dewey look. One that makes you look like you are ‘glowing from within’.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur Primer (Warm Apricot) – I really enjoyed this primer. It’s more of a moisturising primer but just makes your skin feel incredibly soft and it smells lovely, which is a bonus!

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation – Ā If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know this is one of my most used foundations. It gives a beautiful natural look and suited the look brilliantly.

Maybelline Eraser Eye ConcealerĀ – This is a bloggers’ favourite. I had been meaning to try this out for god knows how long, and I finally got around to it! I couldn’t recommend this enough – It’s pigmented, easy to blend and comes in extremely practical packaging for application and travel.

Rimmel Stay Matte PowderĀ – Another of my ‘holy grails’ – I never really venture away from this powder as I know it works and it’s affordable! I only applied this on my t zone as I wanted my cheeks to glow.

Smashbox Shape Matters PaletteĀ – I recently purchased this palette for half price (Ā£30) in Boots as it was their Star Gift, and boy am I pleased I did! This product has multiple uses; brows, face and eyes. I used the ‘Taupe’ shade for my eyebrows, as well as the bronzer, contour and highlight for my face. It is extremely pigmented – I would highly recommend, especially if you can find it for a bargain like I did!

Stila In The Garden PaletteĀ – This palette is very unique; it consists of a mixture of shimmers and mattes, in shades such as olive tones, bronze tones, and more dramatic shades such as a purple and a blue. I started with the shade Chinois (Matte white) all over the eye, followed by Nectar (matte beige) in the crease to help with blending. I then applied Honey (Shimmery gold/copper) onto the lid, and Sage (light shimmery green) through the crease. Lastly, I finished with MossĀ (Dark shimmery olive green) through the crease and also on the bottom lash line. This palette really did impress me with it’s beautiful easy to blend shades which looked stunning on the eyes.

Benefit RollerlashĀ – I actually ended up having to use this mascara as it was annoyingly the only one I brought with me on holiday! It is one of my most used but I wished I could have tried a new mascara for this look.

Nivea Lip BalmĀ – I didn’t want to take the focus away from the dramatic eyes and due to being on holiday my lips were fairly dry, so therefore I just applied some of my Nivea Lip Balm in Raspberry.

And here is the final look!

Dark Glitter Eyes with Nude Lip Makeup Tutorial Featuring Smashbox!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. This makeup tutorial is going to be absolutely perfect for any night out you may have planned, as it features dramatic dark eyes with gorgeous golden glitter. I’m just going to focus on my eyes for this tutorial, but will mention all theĀ products used below for you!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 102

Benefit Browzings in Medium

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Sleek Face Form Palette Blush

This eye look is actually quite simple to do. There are a few different products and shades used but it’s quite quick and gives a gorgeous sparkly effect which I really enjoyed going out wearing.

The entire eyeshadow look was created using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette. I started with the shade M3 and took that through the crease as our transition shade, and then patted it onto the lid. Then, I patted M2 onto the outer half of the lid, and slightly through the crease on top of the previous colour. I then took the darkest shade, M1 and used this on the outer V and slightly through the outer half of the crease to create a defined effect.

Once I had fully blended the eyeshadows, I took a makeup wipe and used it to create a harsh eyeshadow line from the outer corner of my eye to the tip of my brow. I then topped up my foundation in this area to make sure it looks flawless and blended.

I then took the gold glitter gel from my MUA luxe palette, and put this into the inner corner of my eye and onto the inner half of my lid, making sure to not bring it into the crease as I wanted a slight cut crease effect here.

I then took Benefit’s Bad Gal eyeliner in EspressoĀ and just lined my lash line and in my waterline also. I wanted a slight cat eye effect with this look and used the L’Oreal Super liner in black to create a thin line on my lash line and brought this out into a thin delicate flick. For this look I wanted super long lashes, and so went for Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ Mascara as this makes my lashes beautiful and long. This mascara is a great base for false lashes if you are looking for a seriously dramatic look. The false lashes that I chose were the Eylure Lengthening No. 035. These are a bit more natural then I would have liked, but nevertheless they still gave that extra definition and texture to the lashes!

Mac, Benefit, Lancome and Drugstore Beauty Haul!

Hi everyone!

So basically, I went into Brighton on the hunt for a graduation ball dress, and whilst I was browsing around the shops, I accidentally fell into Mac, and spent too much money (oops!). On my little haul I also managed to find my way to Benefit, Lancome and Boots (triple oops!). I felt like I should share my new little purchases with you guys!

IMG_0483

Ive been building up my Mac Pro Palette this year, which I have found so much fun! It might be pricey, but I love the fact that the palette is unique to you, and you will always use all the colours! Plus, it looks so professional in my eyes!Ā Just to let you know, I did already have the palette and 3 shades. The other 5 however, are the ones I’ve just purchased!

IMG_0485

The colours are as follows, top to bottom, left to right… Nylon, Jest, All That Glitters, Honesty, Woodwinked, Cranberry, Trax and Mulch! The ones in bold are the new additions. I also purchased the Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20, which I will be doing a first impression on for you soon!

Now, onto Benefit. I had a lovely makeover in Benefit, and purchased some products that were used on me. These were the Benefit Bad Gal Liner in brown, the Sugarbomb blusher and the Big Beautiful Eyes palette, which is stunning! With this purchase, I was able to get samples of both the Benefit Big Easy Multi Balancing Complexion Perfector and Fakeup Concealer (Both of which I will be reviewing soon!).

IMG_0484

I don’t usually purchase from Lancome (I’m not overly sure why, but I just haven’t tried their products!). But, me and my mum were extremely enticed by the excellent free gift they had at the moment in Debenhams, when you buy three products. So, I purchased one product, and mum purchased two, so that we could split the free gift! Excellent plan šŸ˜‰

My product that I chose was the Teint Miracle Foundation, in shade 02 (Yet again, another product I can do a review on for you!). The free items that I got were their Hypnose Mascara (Small size), their blush in 021 Rose Paradis (beautiful bright shade of pink!), a small size of their Juicy Tubes lip gloss, their Galateis Douceur cleaning fluid and a Bi Facil non oily cleanser! I have never used high end cleansers before, so, it would be great to see what difference they make!

IMG_0489

Lastly, I could’t possibly miss out Boots. They had a 3 for 2 offer on cosmetics, which I just had to take advantage of! I decided I really needed a white eyeliner in my life, especially as Summer is creeping up on us! So, I went for the Rimmel Soft Kohl eyeliner. Then I took a look at the Revlon section, and found a Colourburst Matte Balm that I LOVED! However, they didn’t have that one left (It was called Complex) and I was gutted. Instead, I got Elusive, which is a beautiful pink shade. Due to my love of these lip balms, I decided to try the Max Factor Colour Effect Flipstick, in the colour 15 Boreal Mauve. My last little purchase was the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I’ve never tried applying foundation using one of these sponges before, so would love to review this!

Wow… only after typing it all out have I realised how much I’ve actually brought! Sorry for the length of this… many a mini haul will be better next time ;p

Have you tried any of these products? Or have a Mac Pro palette? I’d love to know what colours you have!
